Description
The Quattro is an inverter and battery charger in one unit with two AC inputs, so it can be wired to two separate supplies, such as shore power and a generator, and will switch to whichever one is live. If the supply fails, it carries on powering the main output from the batteries within milliseconds, quickly enough that computers and other sensitive equipment keep running. PowerAssist protects a small shore or generator supply from overload, first by cutting back battery charging and then by adding battery power to it. Quattros can be connected in parallel or set up for three-phase systems, and with a GX device they can be monitored and controlled remotely through Victron's VRM portal.
This listing is the Quattro 12/5000/220-100/100 230V VE.Bus. It runs from a 12 V battery bank and supplies 230 VAC, with 4,000 W of continuous inverter power at 25°C and 10,000 W peak. Its transfer switches are rated 2x 100A, and maximum efficiency is 94 %. In the model name, the figures give the battery voltage, the rating in VA, the maximum charge current in amps and the current rating of each AC input.
